“You are good at math” - Dr. Cheng.
As my Math 201 professor, Dr. Cheng spoke these words early in my undergraduate education, and they have rippled throughout my life.
They led me to an undergraduate degree in Business Administration focused in MIS and a second major in Mathematics.
They led me to two Masters’ degrees: the first in Computer Science, with a focus on Information Assurance; and the second in Mathematics.
They led me to a decade plus career in the information technology field, where I wore many hats - software developer, systems architect, project manager, security auditor, and adjunct professor, among others.
They also led to my now decade plus legal career focused on technology, cybersecurity, privacy, and intellectual property, with roles in the IP/IT practice group at Kutak Rock, a mid-sized national law firm, and in-house with PayPal, LinkedIn, and SUSE.
